Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peaches and a lemon in a Wanli 'kraak' porselein bowl, a partly peeled lemon, an orange slice, a pomegranate and bread on a pewter plate, a gilt cup and cover and a wine flute on a partly draped table by Juriaan van Streek was sold in the Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2000. It changed hands for a price of GBP 19,975.00 (€ 34,196.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Juriaan van Streek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With A Chinese Blue And White Porcelain Bowl And Ewer, A Silver Porringer, Fruit And Other Objects, On A Partly Draped Table in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 162,127.11).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 19.975,00 (€ 34.196,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Juriaan van Streek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With A Chinese Blue And White Porcelain Bowl And Ewer, A Silver Porringer, Fruit And Other Objects, On A Partly Draped Table im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 162.127,11).
