Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work A lobster, a peach and a lemon in a Wanli 'kraak' porcelain plate, a loaf of bread, a bowl and a knife on a pewter plate, a gilt nautilus cup and a wine flute with a jug on a partly draped table by Juriaan van Streek was worth GBP 37,500.00 (€ 47,882.08) to a buyer in October 2014. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Paintings at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Juriaan van Streek - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With A Chinese Blue And White Porcelain Bowl And Ewer, A Silver Porringer, Fruit And Other Objects, On A Partly Draped Table, which sold at auction in January 2017 for USD 175,000.00 (€ 162,127.11).
