In April 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Richard Neutra, Faia, Chuey Residence, 1960 by Julius Shulman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,753.95), 63% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Julius Shulman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kaufmann House, Palm Springs, 1947 in April 2010 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 35,708.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im April 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Richard Neutra, Faia, Chuey Residence, 1960 von Julius Shulman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.753,95) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julius Shulman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kaufmann House, Palm Springs, 1947 im April 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 35.708,92).
