Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2000 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and 19th Century Art, which included the work A cockerel, hens and a peacock before a barn ;and Ducks and chickens beside a stream by Julius Scheuerer. The price achieved of GBP 2,937.50 (€ 4,656.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julius Scheuerer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A feathered feast, which sold at auction in June 2008 for EUR 16,250.00.
