Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2011 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Sunset by Julius Olsson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,545.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Julius Olsson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Golden Shore in December 2008 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 18,380.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunset von Julius Olsson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.545,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julius Olsson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Golden Shore im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 18.380,09).
