In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures, which included the work Moonlight, Scilly Isles by Julius Olsson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,779.99), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julius Olsson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Golden Shore, which sold at auction in December 2008 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 18,380.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Moonlight, Scilly Isles von Julius Olsson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.779,99) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Julius Olsson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Golden Shore beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 18.380,09) versteigert wurde.
