In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures, which included the work A tranquil sunset by Julius Olsson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,676.24), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julius Olsson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Golden Shore, which sold at auction in December 2008 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 18,380.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A tranquil sunset von Julius Olsson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.676,24) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Julius Olsson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Golden Shore beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 18.380,09) versteigert wurde.
