It achieved a price of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,794.04), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63%. Admittedly, works by Julius Olsson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Golden Shore in December 2008 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 18,380.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit A lighthouse at dusk von Julius Olsson kam im November 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.794,04) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julius Olsson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Golden Shore im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 18.380,09).
