Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Market Day, Masham by Julius Caesar Ibbetson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,785.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Julius Caesar Ibbetson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Ullswater, Cumberland, Taken From Gowbarrow Park; And View of Grasmere, Westmoreland, Taken From White Moss in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,493.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Market Day, Masham von Julius Caesar Ibbetson kam im Januar 2011 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.785,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
