Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work The Salmon fishery at Pont Aberglaslyn; and Milkmaids bathing in a river (2) by Julius Caesar Ibbetson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,280.59) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julius Caesar Ibbetson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Ullswater, Cumberland, Taken From Gowbarrow Park; And View of Grasmere, Westmoreland, Taken From White Moss in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,493.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Salmon fishery at Pont Aberglaslyn; and Milkmaids bathing in a river (2) von Julius Caesar Ibbetson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.912,50 (€ 2.280,59) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julius Caesar Ibbetson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View of Ullswater, Cumberland, Taken From Gowbarrow Park; And View of Grasmere, Westmoreland, Taken From White Moss im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.000,00 (€ 124.493,30).
