Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Pictures, which included the work A wooded landscape with a family at rest on a track by a cottage by Julius Caesar Ibbetson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,186.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julius Caesar Ibbetson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Ullswater, Cumberland, Taken From Gowbarrow Park; And View of Grasmere, Westmoreland, Taken From White Moss in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,493.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A wooded landscape with a family at rest on a track by a cottage von Julius Caesar Ibbetson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.186,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julius Caesar Ibbetson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View of Ullswater, Cumberland, Taken From Gowbarrow Park; And View of Grasmere, Westmoreland, Taken From White Moss im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.000,00 (€ 124.493,30).
