Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mozart Night by Jules Olitski was sold in the Prints & Multiples | Live OnlineAbstractions auction at Bonhams in February this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 892.50 (€ 841.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Olitski achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue Crazy in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 774,000.00 (€ 634,738.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mozart Night von Jules Olitski wurde im Februar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples | Live OnlineAbstractions bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 892,50 (€ 841,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jules Olitski erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blue Crazy im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 774.000,00 (€ 634.738,40).
