The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 876,500.00 (€ 773,473.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jules Breton have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2016 the work French les Communiantes was auctioned for USD 1,270,000.00 (€ 1,140,547.82).
