Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jeune Mère Allaitant Son Enfant by Jules Breton was sold in the European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,023.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Breton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French les Communiantes in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,270,000.00 (€ 1,140,547.82).
