The work French La Falaise by Jules Breton was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2019. It achieved a price of USD 399,000.00 (€ 350,645.93), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jules Breton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French les Communiantes, which sold at auction in May 2016 for USD 1,270,000.00 (€ 1,140,547.82).

Die Arbeit French La Falaise von Jules Breton kam im Februar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 399.000,00 (€ 350.645,93) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Für andere Arbeiten von Jules Breton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French les Communiantes beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für USD 1.270.000,00 (€ 1.140.547,82) versteigert wurde.
