Upper estimate price exceeded by 41 %.
In May 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction European Art, which included the work French Glaneuse D'Oeillettes by Jules Breton. The »bidding war« ended at USD 56,250.00 (€ 48,200.51), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Breton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French les Communiantes in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,270,000.00 (€ 1,140,547.82).
