Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Nelson Mandela And Ruth First At A.N.C. Conference Bloemfontein by Jürgen Schadeberg was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in August 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,080.51). Admittedly, works by Jürgen Schadeberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nelson Mandela In His Cell On Robben Island (Revisit), 1994Silver Print, Selenium Toned, Printed 2007. Signed, Titled And Dated In The Lower Margin And With The Photographer'S Copyright Blindstamp In The Right Margin. Signed By Nelson Mandela In The Image in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 6,250.00.

Als die Arbeit Nelson Mandela And Ruth First At A.N.C. Conference Bloemfontein von Jürgen Schadeberg im August 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.080,51) den Besitzer.
