Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Otra Vez El Viento Espanta La Hojarasca De Los Sueños by Juan O'Gorman was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 30,329.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Juan O'Gorman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Consumatum Est in May last year with an auction result of USD 378,000.00 (€ 352,250.49).

Die Arbeit Otra Vez El Viento Espanta La Hojarasca De Los Sueños von Juan O'Gorman wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 30.329,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Juan O'Gorman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Consumatum Est im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 378.000,00 (€ 352.250,49).
