Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Akit (Attracting) by Joy Mallari was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2015. The price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 7,223.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joy Mallari - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Sword Of A Thousand Truths, which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 16,606.59).

Die Arbeit Akit (Attracting) von Joy Mallari kam im April 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 7.223,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Joy Mallari mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Sword Of A Thousand Truths beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 16.606,59) versteigert wurde.
