Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction British Pictures 1500-1850, which included the work An Italianate lake landscape with figures and boats by Joshua Shaw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,464.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joshua Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Dinting Vale, Glossop, Derbyshire in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 44,215.00 (€ 65,805.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Pictures 1500-1850 durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Italianate lake landscape with figures and boats von Joshua Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.464,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joshua Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Dinting Vale, Glossop, Derbyshire im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 44.215,00 (€ 65.805,16).
