Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction The Rafael Valls Sale, which included the work An Exotic Landscape With Figures Smoking Hookah Pipes by Joshua Shaw. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,627.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joshua Shaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of Dinting Vale, Glossop, Derbyshire in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 44,215.00 (€ 65,805.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Rafael Valls Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Exotic Landscape With Figures Smoking Hookah Pipes von Joshua Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.627,57) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joshua Shaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A view of Dinting Vale, Glossop, Derbyshire im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 44.215,00 (€ 65.805,16).
