In November 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work Paternal advice by Josephus Laurentius Dyckmans. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 13,750.00 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Josephus Laurentius Dyckmans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le nouveau châle in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 59,148.62).

Im November 2010 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Paternal advice von Josephus Laurentius Dyckmans zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 13.750,00 und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Josephus Laurentius Dyckmans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le nouveau châle im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.240,00 (€ 59.148,62).
