Sold at the upper estimate price
In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper, which included the work The View From Penpole Point, Near Bristol by Joseph Walter. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,681.83), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Walter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Harbour At Dusk in December 2008 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 32,821.59).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit The View From Penpole Point, Near Bristol von Joseph Walter zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.681,83) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Walter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Harbour At Dusk im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 32.821,59).
