Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Portrait Profile and Still Life) by Joseph Stella for USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,907.20). This price was achieved in the auction Two Centuries: American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tree of My Life in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,937,500.00 (€ 5,243,751.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Portrait Profile and Still Life) von Joseph Stella für USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.907,20) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Two Centuries: American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Stella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tree of My Life im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.937.500,00 (€ 5.243.751,66).
