In November 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Tree of My Life by Joseph Stella for USD 5,937,500.00 (€ 5,243,751.66). This price was achieved in the auction An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Evening Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000,000.00 – 8,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Tree of My Life is the most expensive artwork by Joseph Stella that we have observed at auction so far.
