Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Two Centuries: American Art, which included the work Maschere by Joseph Stella. The price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,907.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tree of My Life in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,937,500.00 (€ 5,243,751.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Two Centuries: American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maschere von Joseph Stella zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.907,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Stella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tree of My Life im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.937.500,00 (€ 5.243.751,66).
