Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Vase And Table by Joseph Solman was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,705.16). Other works by Joseph Solman have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March last year by the work Sewing Basket and Lamp at USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,045.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Vase And Table von Joseph Solman im April 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.705,16) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Joseph Solman wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im März letzten Jahres die Arbeit Sewing Basket and Lamp mit USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.045,61).
