Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Scale by Joseph Solman was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 100.00 – 200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12.80 (€ 11.73). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Solman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sewing Basket and Lamp in March last year with an auction result of USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,045.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Scale von Joseph Solman im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100,00 – 200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12,80 (€ 11,73) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Solman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sewing Basket and Lamp im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.045,61).
