This artwork by Joseph Solman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2021. In the Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II auction, the work Ruth sold for USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,331.67) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Joseph Solman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sewing Basket and Lamp sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,045.61).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Joseph Solman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sewing Basket and Lamp im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.045,61).
