Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II, which included the work Mickey Gruber by Joseph Solman. It changed hands for a price of USD 4,788.00 (€ 3,980.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Solman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sewing Basket and Lamp, which sold at auction in March last year for USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,045.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mickey Gruber von Joseph Solman zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 4.788,00 (€ 3.980,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Solman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sewing Basket and Lamp beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.045,61) versteigert wurde.
