Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2007 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Picking flowers beside the river; and A distraction from the flock by Joseph Paulman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 3,226.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Joseph Paulman have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2004 the work Fishing from the bridge; and The retriever was auctioned for GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,661.64).

Im September 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Picking flowers beside the river; and A distraction from the flock von Joseph Paulman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 3.226,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Joseph Paulman konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2004 die Arbeit Fishing from the bridge; and The retriever für GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.661,64) versteigert.
