Despite a disappointment, a good price for Joseph Paelinck
In October 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Orpheus and Eurydice by Joseph Paelinck for USD 72,000.00 (€ 60,025.01). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Orpheus and Eurydice is the most expensive artwork by Joseph Paelinck that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Joseph Paelinck
Im Oktober 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Orpheus and Eurydice von Joseph Paelinck für USD 72.000,00 (€ 60.025,01) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Orpheus and Eurydice das teuerste Kunstwerk von Joseph Paelinck, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
