In December 2012 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Design for the memorial in Westminster Abbey commemorating the lives of Captains William Bayne (1730-1782), William Blair (d. 1782) and Lord Robert Manners (1758-1782) by Joseph Nollekens. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,415.97), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Nollekens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mercury In Repose, which sold at auction in January 2014 for USD 68,750.00 (€ 50,925.93).

Im Dezember 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Design for the memorial in Westminster Abbey commemorating the lives of Captains William Bayne (1730-1782), William Blair (d. 1782) and Lord Robert Manners (1758-1782) von Joseph Nollekens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.415,97) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Nollekens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mercury In Repose beobachtet, die im Januar 2014 für USD 68.750,00 (€ 50.925,93) versteigert wurde.
