Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rainforest, circa 1959-66 by Joseph Cornell was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 14,025.00 (€ 13,228.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Cornell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Medici Slot Machine in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 7,781,000.00 (€ 5,704,545.45).

Die Arbeit Rainforest, circa 1959-66 von Joseph Cornell kam im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 14.025,00 (€ 13.228,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Cornell erzielen.
