Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES AND OBJECTS OF VERTU, which included the work A Young Gentleman, In Green Coat, White Shirt And Cravat, With Powdered Hair by Joseph Boze. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,218.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Boze achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Jean-Conrad Hottinguer (1764-1841) in June 2009 with an auction result of EUR 46,350.00.
