Auction result well in line with expectations
The work France by Josef Koudelka was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April this year. The price achieved of USD 25,400.00 (€ 23,007.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Josef Koudelka - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gypsy, Kladno, Czechoslovakia, 1966, which sold at auction in November 2017 for EUR 68,750.00.

Die Arbeit France von Josef Koudelka kam im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.400,00 (€ 23.007,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Josef Koudelka mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gypsy, Kladno, Czechoslovakia, 1966 beobachtet, die im November 2017 für EUR 68.750,00 versteigert wurde.
