Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2004 Christies in London held the auction Exploration and Travel with The Polar Sale, which included the work The Road To Santiago de Chile by Josef Karl Berthold Püttner. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 6,093.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Josef Karl Berthold Püttner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Amercian port view said to be San Franciso harbor in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 37,000.00 (€ 24,930.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Exploration and Travel with The Polar Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Road To Santiago de Chile von Josef Karl Berthold Püttner zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.182,50 (€ 6.093,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Josef Karl Berthold Püttner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Amercian port view said to be San Franciso harbor im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.000,00 (€ 24.930,93).
