Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Czech Head Of A Woman (Enská Hlava) by Josef Čapek was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2014. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 688.00 (€ 865.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Čapek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Czech sailor And Phantomas: A Double-Sided Work (Námořník A Fantomas: Oboustranná Malba) in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 565,250.00 (€ 625,344.06).
