In December 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Art | New York, which included the work Madre by José Chávez Morado. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,562.47), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Chávez Morado achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Los embozados in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 143,513.20).

Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Art | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit Madre von José Chávez Morado zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.562,47) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Chávez Morado erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Los embozados im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 143.513,20).
