Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Paloma sobre una jarra by Jorge Castillo was auctioned at Bonhams in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 892.50 (€ 837.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jorge Castillo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wall Street I in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 60,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Paloma sobre una jarra von Jorge Castillo kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 892,50 (€ 837,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jorge Castillo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wall Street I im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 60.250,00.
