Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Girl Playing by Jorge Castillo was auctioned at Bonhams in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 255.00 (€ 239.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jorge Castillo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wall Street I in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 60,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Girl Playing von Jorge Castillo im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 255,00 (€ 239,35) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jorge Castillo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wall Street I im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 60.250,00.
