Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view of the Amstel with the Amstel Hotel beyond by Joop Stierhout was sold in the Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2011. The price achieved of EUR 1,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joop Stierhout achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Viering van de geboorte van Prinses Irene: Vlaggen op het Damrak, Centraal Station in de achtergrond in October 2003 with an auction result of EUR 12,547.50.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A view of the Amstel with the Amstel Hotel beyond von Joop Stierhout wurde im September 2011 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joop Stierhout erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Viering van de geboorte van Prinses Irene: Vlaggen op het Damrak, Centraal Station in de achtergrond im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.547,50.
