This artwork by Jonathan Chapline achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July 2021. In the Trespassing auction, the work Gradient Mesh Based Vector Portrait sold for USD 35,000.00 (€ 29,501.01) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jonathan Chapline have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing) in May last year with an auction result of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 224,383.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jonathan Chapline erzielte im Juli 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Trespassing wurde die Arbeit Gradient Mesh Based Vector Portrait für USD 35.000,00 (€ 29.501,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jonathan Chapline auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Image Gallery (Collecting and Transcribing) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 224.383,56).
