Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Jon Cattapan was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2004. The price achieved of AUD 5,975.00 (€ 3,480.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jon Cattapan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Emperor'S Head, which sold at auction in April 2006 for AUD 20,315.00 (€ 12,218.93).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jon Cattapan kam im November 2004 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 5.975,00 (€ 3.480,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jon Cattapan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Emperor'S Head beobachtet, die im April 2006 für AUD 20.315,00 (€ 12.218,93) versteigert wurde.
