Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work St Michael's Mount, Cornwall by John Wilson Carmichael. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,127.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wilson Carmichael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Opening Engagement At Trafalgar; H.M.S. 'Royal Sovereign' Raking The Stern Of The Spanish Flagship 'Santa Ana' in January 2018 with an auction result of GBP 237,000.00 (€ 270,601.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit St Michael's Mount, Cornwall von John Wilson Carmichael zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.127,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Wilson Carmichael erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Opening Engagement At Trafalgar; H.M.S.
