Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'A calm' by John Wilson Carmichael was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in April last year. The price achieved of GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,344.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wilson Carmichael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Opening Engagement At Trafalgar; H.M.S. 'Royal Sovereign' Raking The Stern Of The Spanish Flagship 'Santa Ana' in January 2018 with an auction result of GBP 237,000.00 (€ 270,601.06).
