This work of art by John William Hill could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work View Of The Lake; View Of The Valley: Two Watercolors changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,396.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by John William Hill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hudson River at Caldwell in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 15,275.00 (€ 18,000.24).
