Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life with Peaches and Plums by John William Hill was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in July 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,182.50 (€ 4,269.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John William Hill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hudson River at Caldwell in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 15,275.00 (€ 18,000.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Still Life with Peaches and Plums von John William Hill wurde im Juli 2002 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.182,50 (€ 4.269,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John William Hill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hudson River at Caldwell im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.275,00 (€ 18.000,24).
