A top price for John White - as previously expected
In October 2015 Christies in London held the auction Topographical Pictures, which included the work Sketches of some of the Various Classes and Tribes inhabiting the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope and the Interior of South Africa by John White. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 15,735.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Sketches of some of the Various Classes and Tribes inhabiting the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope and the Interior of South Africa is the most expensive artwork by John White that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Oktober 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Topographical Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sketches of some of the Various Classes and Tribes inhabiting the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope and the Interior of South Africa von John White zur Versteigerung kam. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Sketches of some of the Various Classes and Tribes inhabiting the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope and the Interior of South Africa das teuerste Kunstwerk von John White, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
