Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Beer village by John White was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction at Christies in London in February 2002. It achieved a price of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,300.98), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Admittedly, works by John White have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sketches of some of the Various Classes and Tribes inhabiting the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope and the Interior of South Africa in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 15,735.94).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.300,98) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John White auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sketches of some of the Various Classes and Tribes inhabiting the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope and the Interior of South Africa im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 15.735,94).
